CASE STUDY: #StandwithStandingRock
In partnership with The Carry-On, we hosted a benefit concert to stand in solidarity and support the efforts of the Standing Rock community. During this evening at the popular venue, Brooklyn Bowl, we featured native and non-native performers to support the First Nations community against the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline, which threaten the drinking waters of millions.
With only a month of preparation, we were able to secure the bookings of: St. Lucia, The Skins, Kyp Malone from TV On The Radio, Holly Miranda , Invisible Familiars, City of the Sun, Diane Birch Cole Ramstad and Immortal Technique. Any agent or booking agent can tell you this is not an easy feat, and we were so thankful to all the musicians who donated their talents for this cause.
The event raised $14,607 that was evenly divided amongst three organizations: The Seeding Sovereignty Project, The Onondagan Nation’s Camp and The Redhawk Native American Arts Council. The event was covered by Refinery 29, NYLON, and Time Out New York.
